We will be leaving The Plaza at 11:00am for Dallas. I am going to have to be the bad guy and set some ground rules for visitation at BIR. Although we cannot even begin to express our appreciation to you all for your kind words and prayers, Allan is really going to need to focus on his rehab beginning tomorrow. He has requested to have only 2 visitors/day, with each visit lasting for about 10 minutes. He enjoys seeing everyone, and appreciates the time that people take for him, but he tires very quickly at this point. He might feel differently after another week, but for now he cannot tolerate much outside of his therapies. His therapies will probably last until 3:00 or 4:00 every day, so he would prefer that visitors come by after that time. We hope that everyone will understand about our visitation rules. This rehab time is critical for helping him get back to "normal". If you would like to visit Allan, please text me so I can coordinate days and times for you 214-215-5587. Like those social management skills??
I hope to get the kids up to the rehab to visit Allan tomorrow. I think they are the best medicine for him. I'll let you all know more tomorrow. We send our love to you all.
So excited for you two! And I think everyone will totally understand the visitation limits. Allan has a lot of hard work ahead of him the next few weeks and we all want him to make as much progress as possible.
ReplyDeleteI'm headed to Dallas with my college girlfriends the weekend of the MLK holiday (Fri-Sun, January 13-15) and would love to drop by if y'all have an opening one afternoon that weekend. Much love from all the Shreveport Richards :)
Tell the therapists that I want Allan to ready himself for a family trip to Shreveport and a basketball game with John Caverlee. Hank really wants to see his Uncle Allan!
